Alternatives to Using Plastic Bird Spikes

Although many people experience problems with birds, each situation is a little different. The best solution to your bird problem will depend on a few different variables, including how big an area you have, the type of birds, and where the birds are causing a problem.  While many people have luck with plastic bird spikes, these are actually only one product in a whole arsenal of tools that are meant to keep pesky birds at bay.  Here are some of the most common solutions to bird problems.

Fake predators may work great for certain birds, but they don't scare all of them away.  Many people who live in rural areas have a problem with woodpeckers pecking holes in the side of their houses.  Not only is this expensive and destructive, but it is also really loud and annoying to have a bird pecking away at the wall while you are sleeping or at work!  The best solution for this type of problem is to get a sonic bird repeller. These little gadgets are pre-programmed to emit a distress call that will make birds fly away ASAP.  They are a great solution for keeping birds away from an entire home or structure.  Depending on the type of bird you are having a problem with, you can get either a sonic or ultrasonic bird repeller that is made specifically for the species.
